Blood donation campaign

On February 3, 2024, FirstStep Together organized a blood donation awareness program in Calgary, held at the Canadian Blood Donation office. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of donating blood and its significant impact on saving lives within the community. Through informative sessions and interactive discussions, attendees learned about the critical need for blood donations, particularly in emergency situations and for individuals with medical conditions requiring transfusions.

Participants also had the opportunity to engage with representatives from the Canadian Blood Services, who provided valuable information about the donation process, eligibility criteria, and the positive outcomes of blood donation. Additionally, the event facilitated conversations about dispelling myths and misconceptions surrounding blood donation, encouraging more people to become regular donors and contribute to the well-being of others in need. Through this initiative, FirstStep Together sought to inspire a culture of giving and altruism, ultimately making a tangible difference in the lives of patients requiring blood transfusions.
