On September 21st, 2024, we united for an inspiring and transformative art event hosted by FirstStep Together Society 

A huge thank you to 44  participants from 9 different countries and ethnic backgrounds who came together to share their perspectives, experiences, and powerful voices in the fight against racism, promoting social justice and inclusion.


Together, we continue to paint a more inclusive and just world!

🌟 Voices of Resilience: Strengthening Communities Through Anti-Racism Dialogue 🌟

We are proud to announce the success of our roundtable event hosted by FirstStep Together Society (FST) FirstStepTogether 

In an inspiring effort to foster inclusivity and equality, we brought together 30 organizational leaders from 17 grassroots associations/societies and community leaders, along with political dignitaries and Indigenous elders Charlotte Macleod, engage in meaningful discussions on combating the rise of racism in our communities.

Blood donation campaign

On February 3, 2024, FirstStep Together organized a blood donation awareness program in Calgary, held at the Canadian Blood Donation office. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of donating blood and its significant impact on saving lives within the community. Through informative sessions and interactive discussions, attendees learned about the critical need for blood donations, particularly in emergency situations and for individuals with medical conditions requiring transfusions.

Multi-generational community engagement event

On Friday, February 23, 2024, FirstStep Together partnered with Planet Youth and Trelis Society to host a Meaning of Well-being program. This collaborative effort aimed to bridge generational gaps and promote cultural awareness surrounding well-being. Through interactive sessions and cultural activities, participants explored the diverse facets of well-being and exchanged valuable insights. By fostering intergenerational networking and cultural understanding, the program sought to empower individuals to cultivate a more holistic approach to well-being in their lives and communities.

Youth Mental Health Discussion

On November 4, 2023, FirstStep Together orchestrated a Youth Mental Health Discussion, aimed at addressing the pressing issues surrounding mental well-being among young individuals. This crucial event provided a platform for open dialogue and constructive conversations about the challenges and stigmas associated with mental health in the youth community. Through insightful presentations, personal testimonials, and interactive workshops, participants gained a deeper understanding of mental health disorders, coping mechanisms, and available support resources.
